Post Title

Talking to Houston Texan fans about Schaub yesterday was fun. Some of them think they'd be better off without Schaub. He's got some issues like most QBs, but you better have a replacement and I don't think they have that. One guy I talked with yesterday thought they should put their third string kid, Case Keenum. Articles like this don't help. The kid is 3rd string for a reason.

I am going to attempt to do a Tough Mudder run this Sunday with a friend of mine. I didn't consider #fantasyreasons when I signed up. I generally don't make changes to my lineups after I check them Sunday morning anyways. Its like changing answers on a test. I'm not in the greatest shape right now, so this should hurt but it looks like it might be fun too. I'll probably be in a coma on Monday. Here is our course and here are a list of obstacle descriptions.

About 7 weeks out from having a kid. cmjug is in the phase where she is uncomfortable all of the time. I am no longer to say that I'm tired under any circumstance. Sometimes it seems like its still a long way off and sometimes it hits me that my life is about to change more than it ever has.

I've been trying to stay away from national news lately. This government shutdown is frustarating on many levels. I'm fortunate to get back pay when its all said and done, but it should have never gotten to this point. Moral isn't the best at work with about 90% of the people getting sent home last Monday. Those people aren't guaranteed to get back pay. end woe

GO!

one of the politicians said it the best the other day. "all of America thinks that we are crazy"

I don't talk politics much, but more than ever, I feel like Congress doesn't represent any of the views of the American people anymore.

Jugdish said...

i would agree with that, and i don't like the fact that they can pass laws for us that they don't have to abide by

still wonder why they couldn't just go under continuing resolution like they have in the past...at least that way people don't go without pay

because for some reason, some tea party guy from texas thinks he can undo obamacare, even though the government and the states have already poured billions into the program, not counting the amount of money that insurance companies have had to spend to get ready for it.

But hey, who cares, lets just consider that money "waste"

alright, now i'm done. my soapbox is over.

i did a tough mudder type thing once. it was lame.

the bale wall was 3 hay bales high.

the junkyard of cars had 4 cars

the run through the danger forest had 1 tree line

the pit of fire was like 4 inches of fire.

tem said...

"ut hey, who cares, lets just consider that money "waste""

sunk cost. you know better blue. make the decision on the margin. is obamacare the best thing going forward? he thinks no.

tem said...

we spent a lot of money during the korean war, i guess that was a waste since the north still exists. we better go blow the fuck out of north korea or all that money we spent back in the 50s was a waste.

BLUE said...

tough mudder is the truth.

there are a bunch of lame obstacle races out there, TM is not one of them.

Jugdish said...

its not like the govt to waste money

If they had tangible evidence that the affordable health care act was going to be a shitshow, then i'd say yes, lets can it.

But it's just that they don't "like" it.

Well it's interesting that the day that the exchanges came online almost every state had so much interest that their websites crashed.

That was probably all hackers who work for the NSA though.

damnit tem, I was off my soapbox.

seems to be like that on both sides though. "let's pass the bill so we can see if it works or not"

Blue do you know of any job openings for an accountant type guy out there? Not me, my friend.

tem said...

Everything run by the government is a shit show. Thats tangible evidence

I think in two years we will be dropping health insurance at our company And just pay the obama fine. The fine is like ten Times cheaper than the actual insurance costs.

Jugdish said...

and you'll end paying higher premiums then, right?

tem said...

Me personally? I don't know. I don't know much about the way the whole thing works. All o know is that for the company it is xheaper to not provide insurance . Cheaper by a lot.

Jugdish said...

i pay 200 every two weeks for blue cross blue shield and im assuming my employer is also paying a portion. so if my employer decides not to pick that up and just pay the fine, obviously i can put that $200 towards whatever plan i shop for, but im assuming whatever i get will be a higher premium because it isn't offset by the company anymore.

i don't know how it all works either...

penalty will get raised if a lot of companies do this. We thought about that here as well

BLUE said...

jug, you'd end up getting a subsidy from the government that comes from the fines that are paid by corporations.

Also, if your employee goes to the exchange and gets a government subsidy, the company has to pay a $3k fine per employee that receives a subsidy. That's on top of the pay or play penalty.

And that fine is subject to adjustment.

BLUE said...

what I found from the exchange is that if you just want catastrophic insurance, (to cover you in case of a catastrophe) then it's fairly reasonable.

full blown coverage where they pay for your toilet paper and everything was pretty expensive.

I know way to much about the ACA. it hurts my head.

now my employer is the government, so im not sure what they'll do.

i do plan on starting to look for other employment next year. i don't have to make a move now, but i want to see what's available

i think the penalty for not offering insurance is $125 per month.

much cheaper for the employer to just pay the penalty.

got my issue with the hoa resolved (finally). they agreed to waive the initial late charge and interest, as well as the additional attorney charge. bottom line, I'll have to pay $62 instead of $340. ill take that.

See, this is what pisses me off about Obama. He spent his entire first term blaming everything on Bush, and now he is blaming everything on congress. How about stopping the blame game and being a fucking leader?

The Meiz said...

It's a two-way street. Rs are not willing to compromise or rationally negotiate with Ds. Barack has made some compromises, yet the GOP wants to strong-arm the Chief. This whole thing is a terrible terrible look.

i agree its a terrible look all around. to h's point from an overall picture, i don't recall a president that has blamed so many people for all the problems. nothing is his fault, he accepts no responsibility.

its not like he even has to accept blame, just lead and work to fix the stuff and stop pointing the finger at everyone else. how unprofessional is it to put that video on the air force interwebs that specifically blames congress? the answer is very.

Jugdish said...

and congress is just as much to blame. they keep putting obamacare in there and the other side refuses to negotiate.

Jugdish said...
