MACLIN!!!!!

I'm running a bit late this morning. Actually, if I ran maybe I wouldn't be as late.

I don't travel much for my yob, but I'll be on the road the next two weeks starting on Sunday. Next week I'll be in DC, and the week after I'll be in Knoxville.

Tonight I'm going here for this. The site says "An intimate acostic performance...". Knows English. The House of Blues is a decent enough venue, but expensive to drink at. Titty bar prices without the titties.

Funny headline: Madam to Finger NFL Bigs

I'm slightly hungover.

Playoffs start in fantasy this weekend in 2 of my 3 leagues. Matt Ryan has been killing me lately. I don't have MACLIN on any of my teams.

Kobe hit 30,000 points last night and I'm already tired of all the "where does he rank all time" and "who is the greatest Laker of all time" talk. Who is the greatest LOV-er of all time?

GO!

Josh Gordon vs KC or Roddy White vs Carolina?

BLUE said...

really?

Roddy all day

KC actually has decent corners

I Love NY said...

Roddy's been crap lately, so, definitely Roddy. Always Roddy.

And isn't Julio Jones dinged?

Lucky you

"RIP vikes, ponder is shit,"

yep, extra frustrating in that with even a decent QB I think we'd be in the hunt this year. You know things are bad when you say things like, I wish we still had Sage as a QB option

Keef said...

my loss was to a good team

The team ranked behind you

Keef said...

And Boise is like 4 spots ahead of tOSU. It's all fixed anyway

BLUE said...

you're on probation anyway

Keef said...

Keef said...

tougher schedule made me lol

Don't lose

Keef said...

Big 12 doesn't have a title game

yeah, sucks for keith, just like in real life, the earlier you lose in the season the better

BLUE said...

keith has played one ranked team.

me

tem has played 3 ranked teams, and has 2 more on his schedule

texas showdown will be epic

BLUE said...

ok, maybe not epic

I don't think they're letting me move stuff in early, so I guess I'm starting to move the week of the 1st.

I told Keith I was torpedoing the Badgers to screw him, and by golly it's working.

Commissioner Roger Goodell recently discussed a proposal to eliminate kickoffs with Rich McKay, the head of the league's competition committee, Time Magazine reported.

stupid

I Love NY said...

Goodell needs to go. This is ridiculous.

BLUE said...

go where?

Jugdish said...

wall

BLUE said...

why would he go to the wall?

Jugdish said...

suite

BLUE said...

EL CAMINO

BLUE said...

that always reminds me of the movie "the mexican"

Keef said...

Goodell and McKay discussed an idea brought up by Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano in which a team, instead of kicking off, would get the ball at their own 30-yard line in a fourth-and-15 situation. The team then would punt the ball away or, to replace an onside kick, could go for it and, if they failed to get a first down, the opposing squad would start with great field position.

That's ratarded

BLUE said...

Yeah, el camino

BLUE said...

that's just idiotic.

and how is punting it away, different than kicking it away.

still have guys running full speed 50 yards downfield

I Love NY said...

And the owners will be for it, because that's one less paycheck to cut every week.

Fuck Goodell.

BLUE said...

what one less? they still have to have a FG kicker

BLUE said...

unless we're doing away with FGs now too

I Love NY said...

Forgot about FGs. The new punterkicker can do bolth.

Keef said...

Then why wouldn't the punterkicker do both now?

I Love NY said...

The punterkicker position doesn't exist yet

tem said...

it's all dumb.

KOs need to stay. 100 yard KO returns are exciting.

I Love NY said...

In Rog's future NFL, the new punterkicker position can only do 2 of 3 possible tasks. Punting, Kickoffs, or FGs. You have to choose before the season, and forgo using one of the three.

tem said...

it would suck to be down 6 with 30 seconds and have to start on your own 20. you have little hope.

at least with the kickoff return you have a chance to start with great field position.

I Love NY said...

BOOM.

I just made the NFL WAAAAYYYY better.

I Love NY said...

So I got both Avery and Gordon. Pretty sure I way overpaid for them, but I don't want anybody else to have them.

that's logic that a developer uses.

"We have to play accordingly and our fans have to show up accordingly, which we know they will. Hopefully, they're super-duper drunk. ... So drink liquor, not beer," he said after Minnesota's loss to Green Bay last Sunday, according to the Star Tribune.
The game is scheduled to start at noon local time. As such, Greenway advocated that fans start their drinking early.
"Yeah, I would say morning drinking," Greenway said, according to the newspaper. "Why not? You could pull an all-nighter. Then you'd have the drunk, tired guys who will really be obnoxious."

I Love NY said...

Rog gonna hit Greenway with that $20k billy club for that quote

Keef said...

wall

BLUE said...

I think teams would take the shot of having a 4th and 15 from their own 35 over having to kick an onside kick

BLUE said...

too much luck in onside kicks, not nearly as much luck involved on 4th and 15

Keef said...

I don't think Luck plays on special teams

I find the term "special teams" offensive

EL PICKS said...

yeah, something like that you can't backtrack away from fast enough

EL PICKS said...

also, see Costas and guns

EL PICKS said...

although Costas/Whitlock were/are right

Keef said...

I heard Costas on DP this week. He tried to explain it, although I'm sure it was PR too. But he said he was told by the head NBC production guy in the 1st quarter that he needed to come up with something at halftime, and was told he had 75 seconds to say something. He said if he had to do it again he would have probably said something a little different that wouldn't allow people to jump to a conclusion because he didn't have the time to fully explain his comment.

EL PICKS said...

for a guy who seems to have spent most of his days avoiding being controversial, sure was interesting to hear him address one of the most controversial topics imaginable (probably that or abortion)

but again, I applaud him for it. And they will always tell you it's the wrong time, the wrong place, the wrong context...regardless of the time, place or context

it was frequently repeated after the Co. movie shooting

it's frequently repeated here, as a 4 year old just accidentally shot and killed a 2 year old in Mpls.

-good tactic though, it works

BLUE said...

he didn't really take a stance, he just read whitlock's article

BLUE said...

i guess he implied that he agreed with whitlock

Keef said...

yeah and I think the issue was that it wasn't really clear which were his words and which words were JW's

Does anyone seriously believe that repealing the 2nd amendment will stop gun violence? Drugs are illegal, yet people still do them on a regular basis. People will get their hands on guns, whether they're legal to own ot not.

Repealing it will just mean that responsible people won't be able to have them.
