Busy Week

Busy week for tem. Flying to Florida today for work. Back to temhio tomorrow and then off to Austin the next day. Like Keith I can't wait. I have a cold though, so I hope that goes away in the next day or two. Plane ride today will suck ballz. Cabin pressure will rock my head.

I'm pressed for time as usual so I will just give you this one thought.

Seeing a fat dog always makes me smile. What is up with that? They are just funny looking and always look like a fat and happy dog. I like it when they are small dogs like dauschunds (sp?). Then they look like a barrel with legs.

Blue said...

on one series, 2nd quarter I think.

Eli threw a deep ball that went as high up as it went downfield, and underthrew the reciever by about 10 yards, he was lucky it wasn't picked.

then two plays later, he overthrew a different guy downfield by like 10 yards.

dude, Eli isn't even top 20 right now in the NFL

You're welcome said...

Eli might be top 20, only because the QB position is trash right now

El Padrino said...

"Dude, you know if he was on another team that you would think he's garbage"

probably but it's like any other home team player or team you know a little bit more about the player than the average fan

i know he's a winner, good game manager and extremely durable, tough and an extreme competitor

you guys just watch a few wobbly passes or bad int's and think he sucks

it's fair game i get it but there are only 32 qb's in the league and it's undeniable that it is the hardest position in pro sports to play

sometimes it seems like eli's demeanor rubs people the wrong way i mean he gets criticized like he is tavaris jackson for crissakes

You're welcome said...

probably but it's like any other home team player or team you know a little bit more about the player than the average fan

eli is 13th in the QBR rankings for the season, so he's got that going for him

kyle orton is 26th, and cutler is 27th...

El Padrino said...

you read local media on the giants?

watch the weekly shows on the giants?

watch just about every game since he was inserted as starter?

Aitch said...

"sometimes it seems like eli's demeanor rubs people the wrong way"

This is the thing about him and his brother that bother me the most. NS. I hate how they show up their teammates on the field. Eli will overthrow a guy by 15 yards on third down and then stand on the field with his hands on his hips or gesturing that he ran the wrong route or anything to make sure EVERYONE knows that it was the receivers fault and not his. Peyton does that quite often too.

El Padrino said...

"eli is 13th in the QBR rankings for the season, so he's got that going for him"

sitting at a career 80.2 in the old rating thing

Blue said...

you know, Matt Lienart threw for over 400 yards in a game as a rookie

El Padrino said...

it can be labeled douchey too

El Padrino said...

Why would I need to read the local media to see that he's not a grate qb?

Ns

im saying you dont see everything you need to see to determine if he sucks or not

first and foremost unless jesus is the NY QB he's gonna suck in your opinion becuase you hate ny so -100 points right off the bat

second if you follow the team and the beat reporters you'll know certain things or understand that he audibles into good plays or teaches young guys how to run routes, etc. or receivers fucked up routes where he was going with ball (manningham is notorious for this)

you see some wobbly throws on national tv or a few bad picks, fumbles, underthrows and you make up your mind then

you dont follow the team 24/7 like i do

El Padrino said...

just saying it might give you some more insight into the team

Blue said...

Better right now:
Brady
P. Manning
Brees
Rivers
Stafford
Rodgers
Ryan
Roethlisberger
Schaub
Romo
Vick
Flacco
Bradford

Better upside:
Newton
McCoy
Dalton

Blue said...

so that puts half the Qbs in the league that i'd rather have than Eli

i'm not including Cutler/Orton/Sanchez because nobody wants those guys

Blue said...

but...that's the category he's in

El Padrino said...

ha romo, rivers, schaubbby, flacco

jilarity

the others i understand

Spaceman Spiff said...

you think eli is better than rivers?

you're telling me, you wouldn't take rivers over eli?

biggest mistake the giants made was making that trade

El Padrino said...

Newton
McCoy
Dalton

i havent looked at the stats per se but eli destroyed collitch, let's not forget that

Blue said...

Eli's problem is a lot like what Cutler has.

he thinks he's a lot better than he really is, which gets him into all kinds of trouble 99% of the time

You're welcome said...

i havent looked at the stats per se but eli destroyed collitch, let's not forget that

You don't need stats, just listen to the local media

El Padrino said...

"you think eli is better than rivers?"

no, skill wise it seems rivers since he has a better stat line

but he hasnt won shit, shrunk in many big games and is a complete asshole

Blue said...

eli did not have as good of a college career as either of those 3 guys

eli got drafted #1 because of Peyton, pure and simple

You're welcome said...

first and foremost unless jesus is the NY QB he's gonna suck in your opinion becuase you hate ny

And at the opposite end of that, you think that anything NY related is the best there is

El Padrino said...

"biggest mistake the giants made was making that trade"

except one thing, they won super bowl chargers have won squat

You're welcome said...

but he hasnt won shit, shrunk in many big games and is a complete asshole

Eli was a "winner" when NY had a dominant defense. Without that, he hasn't won shit

El Padrino said...

"And at the opposite end of that, you think that anything NY related is the best there is"

false i've told you on many occasions ny has its flaws

revisionist history.

20/27 for 185 vs TB (decent game)
12/18 for 163 vs DAL (18 passes?)
21/40 for 251 vs GB (50% completion is not flawless)
19/34 for 255 vs NE (55% completion)

hardly a flawless playoff run

Blue said...

"Has Eli won a playoff game that didn't occur in 2007?"

nope...career playoff record 3-4

Blue said...

philip rivers is also 3-4 in the playoffs in the time span

El Padrino said...

hey aitch, can you answer that knock at the door. It's bitter. He'd like a few words.

El Padrino said...

"Lawrence Taylor player for the Chargers?"

i know .....just broke my own rule

slapping my wrist

Aitch said...

I'm not bitter. The Giants won that game. But it was on the backs of the defense shutting Brady down for most of the game. The 2007 Patriots were a record setting offense. The Giants D held them to 14 points. Eli's "historical" performance yielded 17. I'll say he was pretty poised in that final drive, but it took a miracle catch from Tyree on a play that should have been blown dead and/or penalized to keep that drive going.

Aitch said...

So to sit there and say that they won because of Eli is both foolish and inaccurate

So to sit there and say that they won because of Eli is both foolish and inaccurate
