If you want to read some entertaining ish, check out yesterday's LoVad session. Apparently, Meiz, who turned into Andy, is now back to being Meiz again. Seriously, he needs to just write an auto-biographical screenplay with the Fight Club ending where it turns out that he is both characters and he created the alter-ego to deal with his problems.

So, we need to have a telethon or bake sale or food drive for Meiz. Of course, after we're done and we give him everything we've raised, he'd probably say, "Efff you, I don't need your charity", so we should probably scrap the idear. The First Annual LoV Telethon is a pretty good idea though.

Condo Update: I did not get the condo. They went with a higher offer. I am the backup, but in this market I haven't heard a whole lot of people failing to close after they get an offer accepted because it's pretty tough to get prequalified. So, it's back to square one. And my dumbass landlord said he was going to raise my rent after he fixed my sink (long story), so I want to get out of there as fast as I can without giving those morons any more money.

Manny Update: Who the fuck knows anymore. According to ESPN, the Giants are out. Boras keeps talking to the Dodgers about a 4 or 5 year contract at $25mill per which they continue to not be interested in. Scott Boras is an ass. My guess right now is that Manny signs with the Dodgers right before training camp for the 2-year $50 mill offer (or whatever it was) that they had on the table months ago, and, once again, Boras wastes everyone's godman time.

Andy Pettite tells the Yanks, no thanks, I don't really need another $10 million. Jeebus Chris, how you can turn down that amount of money is beyond me. Yeah, it's a 37% paycut, but seriously, it's still $10 million dollars. That's nothing to sneeze at. And, say what you want about the Yanks offense last year, they still scored a lot of runs, and the dude managed to go 14-14. So, highly mediocre. According to wikipedia, his career earnings are $107,987,416. That is crazy. I know he pitched a lot of big games for the Yanks in the playoffs and in the World Series, but now he's like a third or forth starter at best. $10 million. Jeebus.

Apparently, the Mets are going to wait Lowe out, because they don't think there are any other offers besides theirs for Lowe's services. Guess who his agent is? Yeah, that would be Scott Boras. Douchebag.

In other baseball free agent news, looks like Giambi is heading back to the A's. Sure, why not? My favorite part of that story: "He [Giambi] said he tried to open an In-N-Out in New York to no avail." Jason Giambi's In-N-Out Burger, Brooklyn, New Yawk. Another dream dies.

Beth mentioned this yesterday and is against the idear, but I hope there is some scenario where Andruw Jones makes his way back to the Braves. And sucks. Or he gets run over by a bus next week and his contract comes off the books for the Dodgers. Or, better yet, he signs with Atlanta for five years, gets hit by a bus, but his contract has a "hit by a bus clause" and Atlanta still has to pay him money. Yeah, that last one would really work for me.

Melo broke his hand. Terrible blow to the Nugs, who had me a little surprised. They were on a tear after that Billups trade and they took advantage of of the Blazers youth and Utah's injuries. They have a four game lead in their division and they are shockingly only half one more loss than the Spurs, which puts them in third by percentage points. I'm not saying that this is the end of their season, but they need Mello back ASAP.

Freak will be relived to know that the Philly D.A. is unable to press charges against Marvin Harrison. Nice police force you've got there, Rev. They do great work.

Vincent Jackson got another DUI. Don't these guys have a posse member who's supposed to drive them everywhere? Seriously, the dude was on probation for a DUI and then got another one. Idiot.
