I'm sick

I really think it might be time to give the bottle a rest. My insides hurt all the time.

New topics:

The Pro Bowl was Sunday. Why do they even stage this game? They should just do a skills competition. Who even won?

Grammys. My woman Miss Keys looked bad at the opening of the show, but was looking beautiful for her performance.

Underwood looked as hot as ever at the beginning.

I love Rihanna.

I started playing this Pirates Of the Caribbean online game. I'm not far at all. It's kind of clunky, but if anybody wants, we can team up & go pirating together.

**The game needs to be downloaded & is a slight pain in the ass to get it running right. It took me 2 restarts to get it. Fucking Disney. Piratesonline.com

I had more, but forgot.

Oh. I've been sweaty, dizzy, puking, and shitting this weekend. I think its time for a break.

Well, time for more POTC

I'm fucking exhausted. Time for comments.

I could pull a Tyler and just say "first", and that might even be acceptable for me being a chick (yep, that's a not-so-subtle shot at Tyler for doing that. :-))

Instead though I'll post a link to video of Florida Panther Richard Zednik getting his neck cut by a teammate's skate. (This is not a gory version, although I'm sure it's out there.) FYI, he's supposed to be ok eventually.

I'm getting old.

Drank too much Friday night, I was hungover all day Saturday, all day Sunday, and today isn't looking too good either.

Man, when i think about what I could do back in the day...it's a shame. People should stop aging at 23.

blue said...

you're still hung over today from drinking on friday?

that's new

"NBA's Big Sunday: First, the Celtics (without KG) beat the Spurs, which turns all sorts of conventional wisdom about the strength of Boston's "Big 3" on its head: Namely, that they need all 3 to be healthy to compete with the West's best if the C's made the NBA Finals" -DS

no mention that the Spurs played without Tony Parker or that it was their 4th road game in 6 nights. Hmmm, me thinks Dan never watched the game and just saw the score on the scroll.

blue said...

"always wondered (no pun) why Wonder is always seen wearing them"

it's my understanding that blind people wear sunglasses because their eyes do weird things, and obviously don't look at the person they are talking to, or whatever.

El Padrino said...

i guess i will need a bluray eventually

Jugdish said...

Switching from DirectTV to Comcast this week...upgrading to HD as well. BUT...no more Sunday ticket.

El Padrino said...

Comcast doesn't offer it?
Most cable companies do

El Padrino said...

HD. Yea!

ToddPacker said...

jug, why didn't you get the directTV hd?

Jugdish said...

I thought the NFL Sunday ticket was exclusive to Direct TV? No?

ToddPacker said...

"I thought the NFL Sunday ticket was exclusive to Direct TV?"

i thought the same thing

Jugdish said...

I would have had to pay $200 to get a new HD-DVR with Direct TV...plus I need a phone line for the DVR to work with DTV. We don't use our home phone for anything but the DVR, and I can't justify that expense for only the DVR.

Jugdish said...

The Sunday ticket cost ~ $250...I figure I'll spend that much in beer and wings watching Bears games at sports bars anyways.

ToddPacker said...

i think there are ways around the phone line thing

Jugdish said...

do tell...

El Padrino said...

not exclusive

2 years ago i bought the sunday ticket from Cablevision here in NY
i didnt get it last year

i just dont think it's called sunday ticket

ToddPacker said...

i only have 1 of my drvs hooked up to a phone line and the others work fine, i just told them that there isn't a phone line in the room and the guy said OK... the only problem is that you don't get updates and you can't order ppv through the remote

Jugdish said...

I know I had to have it plugged in to a landline prior to running the DVR setup. I couldn't active the recorder service without it.

I guess after the setup I can just unplug it huh?

ToddPacker said...

i didn't know cable company were selling "sunday ticket-like" packages

ToddPacker said...

"I guess after the setup I can just unplug it huh?"

yeah, maybe. i had a regular directv tivo box in my living room and when i upgraded to HD i just moved the old tivo reciever to another room (with no phone line) and it works fine

El Padrino said...

yeah TP, in fact i'm eyeing getting the MLB package this summer because i'm in that big time $$ fantasy league

Beth said...

My fiance has Tivo and Tivo has an option to use wireless instead of a phone line. Not sure if that helps you though Jug.

Jugdish said...

I may have to check into that after our deal with Comcast runs out...I can always sign another deal for some free equip with Direct TV later too.

El Padrino said...

that picture is outstanding beth

El Padrino said...

i miss hot boxes

ToddPacker said...

"yeah TP, in fact i'm eyeing getting the MLB package this summer"

yeah i knew mlb was available on cable, but i thought nfl was just on direct-tv... mlb package is great, can't live without it

Beth said...

"that picture is outstanding beth"

I actually liked the old pic I was using a little more, but it seems like everyone else likes this one better so I caved to peer pressure. :-)

blue said...

no phone line is necessary, none of our boxes are hooked up to a phone line...

Beth said...

Blue, don't you need either a phone line or wireless hookup to keep the programming guide current?

Jugdish said...

How do you get your DVR setup to record the first time on Direct TV without a phone line? I couldn't go through the setup without one.

ToddPacker said...

"don't you need either a phone line or wireless hookup to keep the programming guide current?"

no

El Padrino said...

someone get jim carrey on the horn for this cable talk

El Padrino said...

dammit
blew that one
shoulda said Chip Douglas

ToddPacker said...

cable/direct tv/hd tv talk is a common CoLoV

El Padrino said...

what not a colov lately

ToddPacker said...

haven't watched cable guy in a long time

Spaceman Spiff said...

i dont have a phone line set up for phone/DVR either

ToddPacker said...

"what not a colov lately"

true

El Padrino said...

good line spiff

El Padrino said...

the pathword isz

niplleeessszzzz

Spaceman Spiff said...

this is quite a game of phone tag we're playing here

Beth said...

Then direct-tv must be different from Tivo, cause I'm almost positive Tivo needs either a phone line or wireless connection to keep updating their program guide.

Jugdish said...

From what I read on line, it will work without the phone line. However, your programming guide will eventually become out of date and it will have problems recording shows.

I could not get my DVR setup to record without a phone line connected. I'd like to know how to get by that. Prior to going through the setup...I couldn't record anything.

Beth said...

"I could not get my DVR setup to record without a phone line connected. I'd like to know how to get by that."

I think you have to set it to record by time and channel, not by choosing the shows by name.

blue said...

directv does not use tivo anymore, their DVR's get the info straight from the satellite, i've had my HD-DVR for over a year now, and never had it plugged into the phoneline

Jugdish said...

that sucks

blue said...

phoneline is only needed for PPV now

Jugdish said...

and that was 100
