Ok, I'll Talk Spot Start

On the College Football front, I think everyone is just holding out to see Michigan and Ohio State go at it while both are undeafeated.

O State: Indiana, Minnesota, at Illini, at Northwestern
Mich: Iowa, Northwestern, Ball State, at Indiana

Good chances of this happening, Go Blue.

Fassel got canned even though it first said he resigned. That's how it always goes. Anyway he was a good coach while in NY. He'll end up somewhere.

Good site. Hoops!
KG seemingly unhappy with his situation is Minnesota lashes out against Trenton Hassel.
Stephen Jackson was booed by Indy crowd everytime he touched the ball.
Read the site for more.

WTF of the day
Wesley Snipes hasn't filed a tax return in six years. Good job.

Hi Bill.

I know this has no shot of happening...but it would be awesome if IU could pull off two more upsets. Hell, just one more would be dandy with me.

GO HHOOOOOOSSSSIIIIEEERRRRSSS!!!

El Padrino said...

an undeafeted Mich vs an undefeated OState would make for a great college football game
both of you guys are nuts

temwr said...

I went to IU so that's the only reason I say that. I'd actually love to see an undefeated OSU/UM game.

Anyway, I live and work in Columbus and I have been getting shit all week about the game this weekend. Obviously I haven't said anything about IU to my coworkers, because I don't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to defending IU football, but I still have to take the shit. So I think I am just going to say "fuck it" and show up tomorrow decked out in IU gear and talk shit all day about how the Hoosiers are going to score the biggest upset of the year.

El Padrino said...

if you went there you should totally do that

temwr said...

I do it during basketball season, but since the IU football team is so bad, I haven't tried it during football season...maybe this is the year.

El Padrino said...

travolta was considered to play donnie brasco...

WTF

El Padrino said...

i gotta get off that site

The role of Vic Vega (Mr. Blonde) in Reservoir Dogs was written for John Travolta, but he declined the low budget independent film. Director Quinten Tarantino then wrote the role of Vinnie in Pulp Fiction with Michael Madsen in mind, but when Madsen was unavailable it went to John Travolta. Thus, Tarantino gave Vincent the same last name as Vic - Vega, making the characters brothers. (A proposed Vega Brothers film featuring the two characters has been discussed but never come to be).

The Rev said...

Wesley Snipes did not belong in Shaft.

That role was meant to be redone by Sam jackson.

ToddPacker said...

How about travolta turned down the robin williams role in Good Will Hunting? I think that was a good idea. I can't see him saying "It's not your fault, It's not your fault" in the Vinny Babarino voice.

I am amazed Kevin Bacon is on there at all, unless it said "acotr who got the role: Kevin Bacon" he was in a ridiculous number of movies, it is hard to believe he turned anything down.

The Rev said...

Believe me Todd, I wouldn't have complained if they told me it was just gas, though I might have felt a little sillier about going to the ER. It beats the alternative.

I can't wait to take my first muscle relaxer tonight.

Then tomorrow, I hope to have a press conference with my "publicist" explaining all of this.

And she will say "The Rev may not have 25 million reasons to stay alive, but he's got about 50 reasons on him right now."

Val Kilmer is someone I would put in the category of almost being able to pull of any role. Although in the last 6yrs or so (maybe less maybe more, I don't want to go to imdb.com and figure it out) he has really lost his A list status.

I don't think Val Kilmer has been A-List since 1995.

temwr said...

Sort of like Scott Baio turning down the role of Maverick in Top Gun?

temwr said...

OK I'll buy Val Kilmer falling off the A list in 1996, works for me.

But at one time he could still play a shitload of roles, ala Mr. Hanks.

temwr said...

oops I meant I'll buy 1995, damn typos.

FYI, I'd have said 97, but no real difference there, point is it was awhile ago.

The Rev said...

Not being A-List doesn't mean you can't act. Val Kilmer is a brilliant actor.

But he hasn't had a real meaty role in a long time. And Val Kilmer doesn't guarantee a big box office.

People would rather drop their movie ticket money on the latest Robin Williams flick instead.

temwr said...

I am a huge Kilmer fan, but I don't think he can pull off any type of role anymore like Hanks still can. Currently I don't think he can pull off the blockbuster anymore because he doesn't draw as well as he used to.

For example take that Polar Express movie. Could Kilmer have pulled that off as an actor? Most certainly. Would it done well at the box office? Probably not. But with Hanks as the star it did far far better than it should have.

Also, Kilmer in Tombstone was basically perfection.

Classic Film. Chocolate Mousse was a great character.

temwr said...

Anyone catch what the Rams coach is saying might be his new strategy at the end of games?

After a completed long pass he will just have everyone stop where they are and have Bruce snap the ball to Holt and have Holt spike it. He will get an illegal formation penalty which will cost 5 yards, but he will save the 10 seconds it takes the fat ass lineman to run to the ball and get set into a real formation.

ToddPacker said...

Speaking of Real Genius, Did you know that the actor who played Lazlo (I think he lived in the closet or something) in Real Genius is the same guy who played Uncle Rico in Napolean Dynamite....IMDB is a beautiful thing.

temwr said...

B/C there is no time run off for illegal formation, which is what screwed him at the end of the SEA game.

Isiah Thomas said...

that makes sense as long as everyone is stopped.

what if holt sprinted to get the ball after it was set, hiked it to bulger who spiked it and they caught the D still getting across the line.

wouldn't it then be offsetting - then they wouldn't lose the 5 yds too.

Isiah Thomas said...

yeah, Real Genius that is it, and it was Uncle Rico.

"In high school I could throw the ball a quarter mile"

temwr said...

Zeke is a genius, it would be offsetting if the fat defensive lineman didn't get across the line in time.

And no need to hike to Bulger any of the two deep receivers could pull it off.

temwr said...

Doesn't anyone on this board hate Val Kilmer? I figured at least one person would be bringing some Kilmer hating. I am pleasantly suprised.

Spaceman Spiff said...

Isiah Thomas said...

Isiah Thomas said...

good pt, have two WR's do the hiking.

the only problem is that most refs are as fat and slow as the lineman so they prob wouldn't spot the ball that quickly.

Except of course for Referee Ed Hoculi.
